The BIG EAST has selected Butler junior
Hannah Moore as the women's cross country Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Moore placed 48
th overall in the Blue Race at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational Friday morning. She clocked a time of 17:09.9 as she navigated the 5k Burke Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
She was the Bulldogs' top finisher for the second time in two races this season. Friday's performance came against a strong national field, headlined by No. 1-ranked North Carolina State, which won the team title in South Bend. The top four also included host Notre Dame, ranked No. 7 in the national poll, No. 12 South Carolina and No. 27 Clemson.
This is the first BIG EAST cross country weekly recognition for the Kokomo, Ind., product.
The Bulldog women next compete Friday, Oct. 16, making the short trip to Terre Haute, Ind., for the NCAA Pre-Nationals at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course that will host the 2026 NCAA Championships in November.
