Rachel Johnson Named BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week

| By:
Butler freshman Rachel Johnson has been selected as the BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office Thursday, Oct. 8.

She shared the weekly award with Isabel Brozena of Xavier.

Johnson picked up her first collegiate medalist honor while also leading the Bulldogs to the team title at the 2026 Butler Fall Invitational.

Johnson finished the 54-hole event at even-par 210. She shot a two-under 68 in Monday's second round, sandwiched between rounds of even-par 70 and 72. She carded a total of 11 birdies over the three rounds. Johnson won the event by two strokes.

The Bulldogs won the team title by 20 strokes at the Butler Fall Invitational, finishing at 16-over 856. In addition to Johnson winning the event, Butler also had Treva Dodd (third), Addi Kooi (fourth) and Brooklynn Bohnert (tied for sixth) near the top of the leaderboard.

This is Johnson's first BIG EAST weekly recognition of her career. She is the second Butler women's golfer to be selected so far this season, joining Kooi, who was honored Oct. 2 after winning the NKU Fall Invitational.

The Bulldogs return to action at the WMU Bronco Fall Classic beginning Monday.
