ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
  • Butler opened the season on Monday morning hosting its annual Kids Day Game in conjunction with the NCAA and the Readers Become Leaders Program. Butler defeated Tennessee Tech 108-71 behind 70 points in the paint and six Bulldogs in double figures.
  • Against Tennessee Tech, Taya Ellis led the team with 19 points and eight rebounds while Tamar Singer recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. Ellis' 19 points were one short of her career-high 20.
  • Saniya Jackson (18), Nevaeh Jackson (13), Judit Valero (10) and Karina Bystry (10) rounded out the Bulldogs in double figures. The last time Butler had six players score in double figures was Nov. 28, 2025, against Dayton.
  • The Bulldogs shot 58.2 percent (39-67) from the field against TTU, and Butler assisted on 26 of the team's 39 makes on Monday morning. Of the teams that played on Monday, Butler's 58.2-percent shooting performance ranked eighth nationally.
  • Butler made 27 free throws on Monday, ranking third nationally and first in the conference.
  • BU had 28 fast break points and scored 70 points in the paint against TTU.
  • The Bulldogs' 108 points against Tennessee Tech is the third-most in a game in program history. BU scored 116 against Detroit in 1999 and scored 109 against Valparaiso in 1990.
  • Saniya and Nevaeh Jackson are the lone returners for Butler. BU added 11 new players this offseason, with four freshmen and seven transfers joining the squad.
  • Saniya Jackson averaged 5.5 rebounds per game and 1.9 steals per game last year, both marks led the squad. The redshirt-junior started all 31 games for BU and averaged 9.2 points per game while playing 30.4 minutes per game.
  • BU's transfer class includes 2025-26 MAC All-Defensive selection Singer (Miami Ohio), Horizon League All-Freshman selection Bystry (Northern Kentucky), Lili Krasovec (Purdue Fort Wayne), Destiny Macharia (Purdue Fort Wayne), Valero (FIU), Ellis (Bowling Green) and Jacy Weisbrod (Northern Michigan). Both Krasovec and Macharia followed Marchesano from Purdue Fort Wayne to Indianapolis.
  • Laniah Wills, Olivia Hastings, Lexi Baer and Sage Miskel comprised Butler's 2025-26 signing class and are the four freshmen on the roster. Miskel is the daughter of former Butler men's basketball Academic All-American, Chris Miskel.
  • Butler's roster has players from five different states (Indiana, Wisconsin, Maryland, Tennessee, Illinois) and five different countries (Israel, Spain, Hungary, Canada, Australia).
  • The Bulldogs will play 20 BIG EAST games, facing all 10 conference opponents both at Hinkle Fieldhouse and on the road.

SCOUTING LIPSCOMB
  • Lipscomb opened the season against No. 9/8 Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn. The Bisons fell 112-53 in the teams' season opener.
  • McKayla Miller led the Bisons with 16 points on 5-for-17 shooting from the floor.
  • Lipscomb was picked to finish third in the Preseason ASUN poll.
  • The Bisons roster is comprised of three freshmen, one redshirt freshman, three sophomores, one redshirt sophomore, one junior and five seniors.
  • Lauren Sumski is in her eighth season at the helm of the Bisons. Sumski was the first coach in program history to lead the team to three consecutive winning seasons.
ABOUT THE SERIES
  • This will be the second all-time meeting between the two programs.
  • The last time the two sides met was the 2017-18 season. Butler secured the 70-58 victory behind a 20-point performance from Whitney Jennings.
