Hamlin Sets School Record in Boston

The Butler track and field team concluded action at the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston on Friday afternoon. 
 
In the 3000-meter race, Jesse Hamlin broke his own school record of 7:43.06, which he posted 7:39.70. Marco Langon from Villanova came in first with a time of 7:34.00.
 
David Slapak and Austin Gabay raced in the one mile run with around 280 other runners. Gabay earned 19th with a time of 3:59.91. Slapak finished 34th with a time of 4:01.65. Ryo Higuchi from the University of Kansas earned first with a time of 3:56.77. 
 
William Zegarski earned 14th in the 5000-meter race. He ran a time of 13:33.23. Dismus Lokira from the University of Alabama earned first with a time of 13:21.54.
 
The majority of the Bulldogs are competing this weekend at the Heartland Invitational at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Ind.

The Bulldogs will return to action next weekend in the Alex Wilson Invitational which will be held at the University of Notre Dame. More information on the event will be available on Butlersports.com.
