Butler Swimming Secures Best BIG EAST Championships Finish in Program History

The Butler swim team concluded competition at the 2026 BIG EAST Championships presented by JEEP on Saturday evening. Butler posted 581.5 team points and secured fifth place, which marks the best finish in program history. The Dawgs edged out Seton Hall (559 points) to secure fifth and Butler's score of 581.5 is the second highest point total in school history at the BIG EAST Championships. Butler's 400 Free Relay team set a new school record in the event with a time of 3:26.19.
 
"It was exciting to watch the entire team race well and be led by our experienced and competitive senior class to finish in fifth place for the first time on the final night at the BIG EAST Championships," said head coach Maurice Stewart.  "I am very proud of this team, all their accomplishments during the conference championships and especially this group of nine seniors that will be remembered as one of the best classes in program history."
