Butler junior Aedan Rendek has been selected as the BIG EAST Men's Track Athlete of the Week. The conference office made the announcement Tuesday, Feb. 24.
 
Rendek posted a time of 1:51.97 in the 800 meters at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame Saturday in South Bend, Ind. His time earned him a fifth-place finish in the event.
 
This is Rendek's first time earning weekly honors in his career after earning All-BIG EAST honors last season. His recognition this week is the first time a Bulldog has received the weekly honor during the 2025-26 indoor season.
 
Rendek and the Bulldogs will compete in the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in Chicago, Ill. beginning Friday.
