The Butler men's tennis team dropped a close 4–3 decision to the Ball State Cardinals on Sunday evening. The loss brings Butler's spring record to 2–5.
The Bulldogs opened the match strong by taking the doubles point. On court one, the duo of Nicolas Arts and Riccardo Baldi secured a 6–3 victory. Over on court two, Rahulniket Konakanchi and Nicholas Balthazor clinched the doubles point with a 7–6 (4) win.
In singles action, Riccardo Baldi earned a victory on court two, while Nicholas Balthazor picked up a win on court five. Ball State claimed the remaining four points, with three of the matches going to three sets.
Butler will be back in action on February 15, traveling to Ohio to take on the Dayton Flyers.
