Butler's Chase Metcalf and Brooke Arington took home BIG EAST weekly honors for their performances in the Bulldogs' 5-2 road win over Southern Indiana Sunday in Evansville. The conference office made the announcement Monday, March 23.
 
Metcalf earned BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week recognition while also teaming with Arington to pick up the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week award.
 
Metcalf picked up a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles in the Bulldogs' only action of the week. Metcalf defeated Southern Indiana's Antonia Ferrarini, 7-5, 6-0.
 
In doubles action, Metcalf and Arington posted a 6-1 win over Southern Indiana's Antonia Ferrarini and Sofia Davidoff at No. 1 doubles Sunday.
 
The Bulldogs return to action Friday against Bellarmine. The match is set to start at 2 p.m. at IRC Dean Road and will be the Bulldogs' final home match of the season. Butler's seniors – Metcalf and Jordan Schildcrout – will be recognized prior to the match.
