Duncan Named BIG EAST Player of the Week, Buckley and Bradberry Claim Spots on Honor Roll

INDIANAPOLIS - Butler's Gunnar Duncan was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week and Brock Buckley earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the league office in New York on Monday. 

In a 3-1 week for Butler, Duncan was spectacular, hitting .600 across three games for BU. The sophomore recorded six hits, one home run and nine RBIs. Against Toledo on Tuesday, Duncan went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. In two games against Milwaukee, the sophomore tallied three hits and five RBIs.

Brock Buckley earned a nod to the honor roll after a sensational outing against Milwaukee. Buckley tossed a seven-inning complete game en route to a 6-2 victory. Buckley allowed only eight hits and two earned runs while punching out eight. 

Grayson Bradberry earned the first weekly honor of his collegiate career for his stellar outing against Toledo. Bradberry tossed 6.0 innings allowing only four hits and no runs while fanning five en route to his second win of the season on the mound. The freshman also pitched an inning of relief against Milwaukee allowing no hits and no runs while picking up a strikeout. 

Butler will open BIG EAST play this weekend as the Dawgs travel to Plymouth Meeting, Pa. to take on the Villanova Wildcats.
