Butler Men’s XC/TF in the Running for John McDonnell Program of the Year

| By:
The Butler men's program is in the running for the John McDonnell Program of the Year awarded by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Bulldogs are currently ranked 16th out of 21 teams who qualify for the award.

The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award is granted annually to the most outstanding cross country/track & field programs in each of the NCAA's three divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA for each gender in those levels.

The award honors the institution that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the institution's finish at their respective national championships.

Butler is currently ranked 16th after the indoor season and is only one of six non-Power Four schools in the running. The Bulldogs earned 16th-place in the NCAA Cross Country Championship and 39th during the NCAA indoor season to give them 56 points.

University of Oregon sits in first-place after finishing second in the NCAA Indoor Championships and fifth in the NCAA Cross Country Championships to give them the lead with seven points.

The Bulldogs will return to action next weekend in the Pacesetter Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. More information on the event will be available on Butlersports.com.
