Box Score OMAHA, Neb. - Butler dropped game one of its three-game series with Creighton on Friday night, 6-0 in Omaha. With the loss, Butler slides to 15-26 overall and 5-5 in BIG EAST play while Creighton improves to 23-16 and 8-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both sides went down in order in a scoreless first frame. In the second, Butler had back-to-back hits from Ayers and Thaxton, but BU was unable to bring either home in the frame. Creighton struck first in the bottom of the second, plating one run on two hits and an error.
- Creighton added another in the third off an RBI single from Connor Capece. An inning later, the Bluejays scored another on an RBI single from Issac Wachsmann. CU took the 3-0 lead into the sixth inning.
- Despite putting two runners on in the sixth, BU was unable to generate any runs as the home side held onto the three-run advantage.
- Creighton threatened in the seventh as two runners reached on errors. Wachsmann stepped up to the plate and belted a three-run homer, as the Bleujays doubled their lead (6-0).
- Butler was unable to mount a comeback in the final two innings as the Bluejays secured the 6-0 victory in game one of the series.
