STORRS, CONN.—The Butler track and field team continued a strong showing Friday in the second day of competition at the BiG EAST Outdoor Championships. The men currently stand in second in the team standings with 55 points entering Saturday's final day of competition.
Cabott Craft continued on his successful season earning first-place in the men's long jump event with a jump of 7.03-meters.
Freshman
Owen Whitney earned his first All-BIG EAST honors when he finished runner-up in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:02.83.
Three Bulldogs finished among the top 10 in the men's 5000 meters to round out day two.
Seth Mahony finished fifth with a time of 13:56.49.
Matthew Forrester earned seventh with a time of 13:59.07.
Eli Fullerton rounded out the Dawgs earning 10th with a time of 14:20.63.
The final day of competition begins at 10 AM tomorrow with the women's discus event. Track events begin at 12 PM with the 4x100-meter relays.
