Cassie Shultz Announces Resignation as Butler Women’s Tennis Head Coach

| By:
Butler University women's tennis coach Cassie Shultz has announced her resignation. Shultz has accepted a position outside of college athletics.

"My relationship with Butler doesn't end with this decision as I will always be a huge fan of the university, the athletics department and the young women I've had the privilege to coach," said Shultz. "This was not an easy decision but it is the right one for me and my family at this time. I appreciate all the support from my friends and colleagues at Butler over the past few years and I'm excited to cheer on the Bulldogs in the years ahead."

"We appreciate Cassie's leadership of our women's tennis program over the last few years," said Butler Vice President and Director of Athletics Grant Leiendecker. "We are sad that Cassie won't be leading our program moving forward but we certainly understand and support her decision. Cassie and her family have been part of the Butler family since long before she was hired to lead our program, and we know that strong relationship will continue."

Shultz has led the Butler program as the head coach for the last two seasons after previously serving as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs on several occasions.

A national search for a new head coach is underway.
