Angelina Ellis ('23) and William Cuthbertson ('24) will compete in the 2026 USATF Track & Field National Championships from July 23-26 in New York, N.Y.

Ellis will run for the Under Armour Dark Sky team out of Flagstaff, Ariz., and will compete in the 3k steeplechase. On July 4, Ellis posted a 9:20.30 qualifying mark at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore. The 2023 grad had a historic career at Butler, earning USTFCCCA All-America and All-BIG EAST honors. Ellis' collegiate personal best in the steeplechase was a 9:44.57 in 2023 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

Cuthbertson will compete for team Empire Elite out of New York, N.Y., in the 800m. On July 18, Cuthbertson posted a qualifying mark of 1:45.66 at the Stumptown Twilight meet in Portland, Ore. He finished 24th at the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 800m. The 2024 grad ran a collegiate best of 1:46.51 in the 800m at the NCAA East first round in 2024.

Current Butler assistant coach Mikayla Reed will also compete in the USATF Track & Field National Championships. Reed will compete in the 10k after running a 32:30.04 qualifying time at the Raleigh Relays on March 27. Reed recently finished in sixth at the USATF 6k Championships in Canton, Ohio on July 11.
