The BIG EAST Conference has announced the recipients of its 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Awards, recognizing the conference's top-performing teams in the classroom across each of its 22 sponsored sports.
 
Butler's five programs recognized – men's basketball, softball, women's soccer, women's indoor track and field, and women's outdoor track and field – tied for the conference-high with St. John's.
 
The conference recognized one team in each sport, with the annual awards highlighting the outstanding academic achievements of BIG EAST student-athletes during the 2025-26 academic year.
 
The awards are presented annually to the team in each conference-sponsored sport that records the highest cumulative grade-point average. Team GPAs are calculated using every student-athlete listed on an institution's official roster at the conclusion of the championship segment in each sport.
 
Butler and St. John's paced the conference with five Team Academic Excellence Awards. Georgetown earned three awards and Creighton, DePaul and Villanova each collected two. Providence, Seton Hall, UConn, and Xavier each received one award.
