Head Coach Maurice Stewart has announced the hiring of Kyle Haflich as an assistant coach for the 2026-27 season.
 
"I am excited to have Kyle join the Butler swimming coaching staff for the 2026-27 season," said Stewart. "I am confident Kyle and I will work together as we have similar coaching philosophies and vision for success. Kyle will be a positive motivator for the team, and he will be a good on-deck coach that will yield fast swimming results. He will also be a strong recruiter for the team."
 
"I am so excited to start my collegiate coaching career at Butler," said Haflich. "I have always wanted to coach collegiately and doing it in my hometown of Indianapolis and being back in the BIG EAST makes it extra special. I look forward to learning from Coach Stewart and being a great resource for the women on the team in hopes that we can keep climbing the ranks of the BIG EAST."
 
Haflich comes to Butler after serving as the Head Age Group Coach for the Warriors Swim Club in Whiteland. He also served as head coach of the Whiteland middle school team and as an assistant coach for the varsity team. His main responsibilities in his role will be on-deck coaching, team operations and recruiting.
 
During his time in Whiteland, Haflich helped build the program's numbers and helped coach multiple swimmers who broke school and club records over the years.
 
Haflich was a student-athlete at Seton Hall from 2018-2021 before transferring to Franklin College in 2021. He was a multi-time conference finalist and holds multiple school records. The Fishers, Ind. native was also a CSC Academic All-District selection with Franklin.
