The Bulldogs finished their first tournament of the season in fifth place overall at the Redbird Fall Invitational, carding a final-round 298 (+10) at Weibring Golf Club. Sophomore Addi Kooi led Butler with a fifth-place individual finish.

Kooi paced the Bulldogs on the individual leaderboard, carding a 74 (+2) in the final round to finish the tournament at 220 (+4). She led the team with five birdies in the final round and nine for the tournament (in addition to an eagle in Sunday's second round).

Freshman Rachel Johnson delivered the lowest round of the day for the Bulldogs Monday, firing an even-par 72. Johnson climbed 18 spots on the leaderboard during the final round to finish tied for 18th at nine-over 225. Her round featured five birdies, including back-to-back birdies on the 17th and 18th holes. She finished the back nine at 1-under 35.

Junior Treva Dodd posted a standout back nine of her own, turning in a two-under 34 with two birdies and seven pars. Her final-round 73 (+1) moved her eight spots up the leaderboard, finishing tied for ninth alongside teammate Brooklynn Bohnert.

Bohnert, a freshman competing as an individual, carded a final-round 76 (+4) with four birdies to finish tied for ninth at six-over 222.

Senior Ashley Freitas bounced back with an even-par 36 on the back nine to card a final-round 79 (+7) and provide Butler's fourth counting score.

St. Thomas, which held the 36-hole lead after Sunday's play, held on to capture the team title at 877 (+13). That was two shots better than Augusta. Host Illinois State and Denver came in just ahead of fifth-place Butler (898, +34). The field included 13 teams.

Kathryn VanArragon led the Tommies to the team championship by taking medalist honors at three-under 213, which was highlighted by a second-round, four-under 68 Sunday.
