Butler freshman Nicholas Brooks was named the BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week. In his collegiate debut, Brooks earned co-medalist honors at the 2026 RedHawk Intercollegiate, which was hosted by Miami (Ohio) at Pittsburgh Field Club.
 
Brooks posted a 54-hole total of 204 (-9). Over the three rounds, he had 10 birdies against a single bogey. Brooks earned co-medalist honors alongside Robert Burns of Oakland.
 
The Bulldogs closed the tournament at eight-under 844, finishing seven strokes behind champion VCU. Butler was followed by BIG EAST foe Seton Hall in third (846). There were 14 teams in the field.
 
The Bulldogs also received a strong performance from Logan Sutto, as he finished tied for third at 206 (-7).
 
The team will return to action Sept. 26 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, hosted by Ball State, at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
