The Bulldogs opened the 2026-27 season over the weekend, joining IU Indy, Marian and the host Greyhounds for the UIndy Fall Tournament.
 
The two-day event had the four teams competing in round-robin singles and doubles matches.
 
A trio of Bulldogs posted perfect 3-0 singles records on the weekend. Sophie Parr and Julia Uyesato won each of their respective singles matches in straight sets; Brooke Arington also was unblemished on the weekend.
 
Lauren Cook, Kate Fortney, Elle Martin, Sienna Miles and freshman Laurel Slechter each registered 2-1 marks in singles play.
 
All four of Butler's doubles pairings went 2-1 on the weekend.

Brooke Arington: 3-0
Lauren Cook: 2-1 with her only loss coming in a third-set match tiebreaker
Kate Fortney: 2-1
Elle Martin: 2-1
Sienna Miles: 2-1
Sophie Parr: 3-0 with all three of her wins coming in straight sets
Hailey Poplin: 0-3
Laurel Slechter: 2-1
Julia Uyesato: 3-0

The tournament served as the first official event for the Bulldogs with new head coach Natalie Boesing leading the program.
 
The Bulldogs continue the fall portion of their schedule this weekend, traveling to the Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State. Play begins Friday and runs through Sunday in Normal, Ill.
