The Bulldogs will look to carry momentum from their season-opening second-place finish into this weekend's Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.

Butler freshman Nicholas Brooks was named the BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week last week. In his collegiate debut, Brooks earned co-medalist honors at the 2026 RedHawk Intercollegiate, hosted by Miami (Ohio) at Pittsburgh Field Club. Brooks posted a 54-hole total of 204 (-9). Over the three rounds, he had 10 birdies against a single bogey. Brooks earned co-medalist honors alongside Robert Burns of Oakland.

This week's lineup will feature freshman Nick Vilela making his collegiate debut as an individual, while Brooks will occupy the first spot following his performance last week. Logan Sutto and Luke Kruger will occupy the second and third spots, respectively, with Johnny Leaman and Jacob Tarkany rounding out the lineup.

The event, hosted by Ball State, is scheduled for 36 holes Saturday and 18 holes Sunday. Shotgun starts are slated for 9 a.m. each day. The tournament will be held at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana. 

The Bulldogs are joined in the field by host Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, Howard, IU Indianapolis, Loyola Chicago, Northern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne, Evansville and Wright State. Purdue will also send individuals to the tournament.

Butler last competed in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational last season, finishing second overall. Sutto led the Bulldogs, finishing 10th individually with a 54-hole score of five-under 205.
