Biography

2016 - Senior Season: Weekend arm that started 14 games... Went 2-7 overall with a 4.04 ERA... Threw a team-best 91.1 innings of action... Struck out 43 batters while only allowing 16 walks... Struck out a season-high six batters vs. Bradley over seven innings, limiting the Braves to just one earned run off seven hits (March 26)... Matched his season-high strikeout total with six vs. Xavier during a season-long 8.2 innings of action (April 29)... First win of the year came at Saint Louis after throwing five full innings and striking out two (March 19)... Helped BU defeat Villanova by throwing eight full innings and striking out five (April 8)... Threw 100 or more pitches in eight of his 14 starts, including his final five-straight.

2015 - Junior Season: Weekend starter that finished the year with a 3-7 overall record... Made 15 total appearances, making 14 starts... Held a 7.04 ERA... Tossed 70.1 innings... Allowed 99 hits, resulting in 55 earned runs... Walked 24 batters... Finished second on the team with 44 strikeouts... Went 1-4 on the mound over six starts during the BIG EAST season... Held a 6.48 ERA vs. conference foes... First start was a five-inning, six strikeout outing at Lipscomb (Feb. 14)... Earned his first win of the year against Indiana Tech after tossing six full innings and striking out five... Matched his season-high strikeout total with six against IPFW (March 8)... Limited Purdue to just three runs to help Butler defeat the Boilermakers (March 29)... Lone BIG EAST victory was recorded at Seton Hall (April 19)... Lone bullpen session was a single inning of work at Bulldog Park against Eastern Illinois (May 12)... Pitched a great game vs. Creighton, going eight full innings while limiting the Bluejays to just five hits and one earned run... Struck out four and walked three in the contest (April 26).

Junior College (Fullerton): Morton was named Second Team All-Orange Empire Conference for his standout sophomore season at Fullerton... He posted a 7-2 overall record that included a 4-1 mark in conference play... Three of his four complete games came against conference foes, giving him 81 innings pitched... Additional stats for Morton included 56 strikeouts and a 2.89 earned run average.

High School: Morton was a standout pitcher at Crespi High School under the guidance of head coach Scott Muckey that continued his baseball career for Nick Fuscardo at Fullerton College... Morton also played summer league ball for the Long Beach Legends under the direction of head coach Jonathan Rodriguez... The left-hander was tabbed Crespi Pitcher of the Year in 2011 after being named All-Mission League... Earned VIBL All-Star honors... In 2012, Morton got the nod as the starting centerfielder at Crespi H.S... He responded by hitting .302 and leading the team in both stolen bases and fielding percentage... He was once again an All-Mission League selection.
