PRIOR TO BUTLER: Ran cross country and track and field at both Cardinal Stritch and Kennesaw State...finished seventh at the 2016 NAIA National Cross Country Championships (ran a time of 24:46 for the 8k in a 331-competitor field)...his finish earned him NAIA All-American honors for the second consecutive year...became the first Cardinal Stritch cross country runner to win the conference (CCAC) championship...also awarded Runner of the Year for the conference in 2016...2016 NAIA national champion in the 1,500 meters...U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NAIA Midwest Men's Track (outdoor) Athlete of the Year...NAIA All-American in outdoor track and field as well...at the 2016 NAIA indoor championships, he was a member of two national championship relay teams (4x800, DMR), and also had a third-place finish in the mile, running a time of 4:13.63...earned three indoor All-American honors.
