Curt Roy

5096
Roy was a two-time Most Valuable Offensive Player and the starting quarterback on the first Butler football team to earn a berth in the NCAA Division II Football National Championship.  He helped guide the Bulldogs to a 9-1-1 record, a Heartland Collegiate Conference championship and a trip to the NCAA playoffs in 1983.  The three-year varsity letterwinner set a Butler single season passing record in 1981, missed the 1982 season with a broken thumb, and then came back to break his own season passing mark in 1983.  He finished his career in third place on Butler’s all-time passing list, and he still ranks among Butler’s “Top 10” all-time leading passers.  Roy was a first team all-conference performer in 1983 and an honorable mention all-league pick in 1981.
