Gentry, who currently serves as Butler’s Director of Corporate Sponsorships, was a standout tennis player for the Bulldogs, 1983-86.  He was a three-time team Most Valuable Player, two-time team captain and two-time Mental Attitude Award winner with the Bulldogs, and he won state singles’ and doubles’ titles in 1983.  He completed his collegiate playing career with the most singles’ wins (61) in Butler history.  Gentry, who graduated cum laude from Butler in 1986, served as an athletic administrator (17 years) and tennis coach (10 years) at the University of Indianapolis and as Communications Director at the Indiana High School Athletic Association (19 months) before returning to Butler in September of 2006.  In addition to his administrative duties with the Bulldogs, he served as the radio voice of Butler Basketball from 2006 to 2010.
