Rylan Hainje

Hainje was a top performer on Butler’s successful men’s basketball team, 1998-2002.  He was named Horizon League Player of the Year and honorable mention Associated Press All-America in 2001-02, while leading the Bulldogs to a then school-record 26-6 mark and the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament.  The 6-6 forward helped Butler to four consecutive 20-win seasons, 95 total wins, two trips to the NCAA Tournament and two berths in the NIT.  He was a first team All-MCC pick in 2001-02, named to the Horizon League All-Defensive Team in 2000-01 and 2001-02 and was chosen to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team in 1998-99.  Hainje finished his career with school records for games played (127, since broken) and games started (120, since broken).  He stood 13th in all-time scoring (1,388 points) and ninth in all-time rebounding at Butler at the end of his senior season.
