Stephen Armstrong

5098
Armstrong was a key performer on Butler’s successful men’s soccer teams in the late 1990’s.  He helped lead the Bulldogs to a pair of Horizon League regular season championships, two conference tournament titles and two trips to the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship.  A prolific scorer, he became just the second player in Butler history to score more than 100 career points, and he finished his career in second place on Butler’s all-time lists for goals scored and points.  He was a three-time, first team All-Horizon League performer and a three-time All-Mideast Region player, and he was named third team NSCAA All-America in 1998.  Armstrong was a member of the South Africa Olympic Team in 1995-96, and he went on to play professionally for seven different teams after his graduation from Butler.
