Auditions for the 2026-27 Butler University Dance Team will be April 10th & 11th, 2026.

Once you have completed the Registration Form, you will complete steps 1-4 before the in-person audition. Please read the entire document- updates to come!
STEP 1: INTRO VIDEO & WAR SONG VIDEO. DUE: MONDAY APRIL 6TH
Dancers will learn Butler War Song via video, record, and submit to a private youtube link. Once uploaded, dancers will send a link via email to coaching staff. Instructions below:
Video Recording Instructions:
- Intro Video: 15-20 Seconds Introducing yourself
- Please state your name, incoming year, hometown, and a little about yourself! Please end the video with “GO DAWGS!”
- Please record horizontally with enough space to fully see yourself.
- Start recording from top of music to include spiriting in video.
- Video Attire: Any Butler shirt/ leggings or bikers/ Tennis shoes. Poms are optional.
Submitting Video:
- Please upload your video to youtube. Please name the video [First Name Last Name]
- Email link to your video to Paige Burns [pcamp@butler.edu] and Alyssa Hartsock [ahartsock@butler.edu]. Be sure to include your Full Name!
After submitting your video:
- You will receive a confirmation email from Paige/ Alyssa. We will confirm your REGISTRATION NUMBER in response to your war song video. Please save the confirmation number as it will be important for updates as you get closer to auditions.
- Confirmation numbers will be shared/updated via Google Drive.
STEP 2: SET INTERVIEW TIME & SUBMIT PAPERWORK. DUE: MONDAY APRIL 6TH
When you receive your “registration number” from Paige, you will also set a 10-minute interview time with Coaches/ Judges. Interviews will be very relaxed, do not stress! Interviews will be done via Google Meet and attire is “Butler Shirt”!

Athletes can review their current standings with audition paperwork once War Song has been submitted! The registration sheet will be updated regularly, be sure to check often!

7:45-9:00 War Song In large groups & Solos
9:00-10:00 Open Gym/ Closing Remarks/ Review Saturday Schedule
- Attire: DANCERS CHOICE!
- Can be matching bra/ legging set, think “cute” athleisure
- Outfits do not have to be rhinestoned, but can be if you’d like.
- Hair down & styled and “game day ready” make up! **DANCERS CHOICE**
- Bring: tennis shoes, jazz shoe/ turner, water, snacks, any personal items.
- Solos:
- Dancers will pick between 3 song options- Jazz/ Hip Hop/ Pom
- Music is provided and uploaded to the drive
- Dancers may alter their attire/appearance if they chose
- Example: added jacket/ baggy pants if they want to do hip hop. Or tie hair back if they want for their solo.
- You do not need to pack a second outfit or a “solo” outfit. Your athleisure attire is preferred.
- This will be your first impression to the judges, so be sure to showcase what makes you GREAT as a dancer!
- We want to see your strongest style, tricks, personality, all of it!

Attire: All Black (can be leggings, bikers, shorts, sports bra), Slick Back Pony Tails, Game Day Hair/ Makeup
If selected for 2025-2026 Team- there will be a team meeting around 5pm.
