Butler University Athletics

Class of 1927: Phillips was captain of Butler's track team in 1924 and 1926-27, and captain of the cross-country squad from 1925 to 1927. He was a three-time national 440 track champion and a member of the 1928 U.S. Olympic team. He won five gold watches one year at the Penn Relays.
