Butler University Athletics

Stanley Lyons was a national champion in the pole vault during his collegiate days at Ohio State. He made a tremendous impact on Butler's track and cross country teams which he coached for 30 seasons, prior to retiriing in 1995. He guided Butler to eight conference track and field championships and five league cross country crowns. He was honored 13 times as Coach of the Year in the Heartland Collegiate Conference(and its predecessor, the Indiana Collegiate Conference).
