Overall did it all for Butler in 2006 after being named Horizon League Cross Country Athlete of the Year, Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year and Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year. He was the conference cross country champion in 2006 and would post a 35th-place finish at the NCAA Championship meet. On the track, Overall placed 11th in the 5,000-meters and 12th in the 3,000 meters. His 3,000-meter performance came during the indoor season while the 5,000-meter race was recorded outdoor. He was tabbed All-America after each season.
Overall returned to form in 2007 to be named Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year. He qualified for the 2007 NCAA Indoor Championship meet in the mile. His first Horizon League Track and Field Athlete of the Year award came in 2005. He qualified for the NCAA Championship Meet in the 1,500 meters and placed sixth in the 5,000-meters in the 2005 European E-23 Championships. Overall also placed 61st in the 2012 London Olympics in the marathon while representing the United Kingdom.
