Dan Wilcher

Dan Wilcher joined the Butler baseball program prior to the 2023 season as an assistant coach. Wilcher coached at Iowa Western Community College (JUCO) before arriving in Indianapolis. Prior to working with the Reivers, Wilcher worked as a graduate assistant at Greenville University for two seasons.

Iowa Western CC found success during Wilcher's tenure. The Reivers posted a 99-24 overall record and were ranked during each season with Wilcher on staff. While working for Iowa Western, Wilcher was the head strength and conditioning coach and the head of base running. He also assisted with hitting and recruiting.

As an assistant with the Panthers, Wilcher worked in various areas of the program, including infield defense, hitting and coordinating the base running instruction.  Coach Wilcher also oversaw the team's strength and conditioning program, and assisted the recruiting coordinator for the team.

Prior to his stop at Greenville, Wilcher had one year as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater, Huntington University, and a year of experience of coaching in the Coastal Plaines League for the Fayetteville Swampdogs in 2017. The Swampdogs claimed a first half division championship in his season with the team.

During his playing career, Wilcher was an infielder at Huntington University for three seasons before his career ended due to multiple arm injuries his junior season.

Coach Wilcher graduated from Huntington in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in sport management and from Greenville with his master's degree in education of coaching and leadership.

Coach Wilcher is originally from Carlisle, Ohio.
