At Olney Central College: Played one season at Olney Central in Illinois, posting a 7-2 pitching record and a 3.19 ERA...totaled 58 strikeouts against 19 walks...helped team to a 43-17-1 mark.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at baseball powerhouse New Palestine for coach Al Cooper...voted 2010 Hancock County Player of the Year...2010 IBHSCA All-State honorable mention...twice voted all-county and all-conference...had a 20-5 career pitching record, leading his team to a 99-22 mark over four years...team won four conference championships and three sectional titles...also played tennis at New Palestine, playing No. 1 doubles earning all-state honorable mention.
