High School: Garyson spent 1 year as a varsity starter and 2 varsity letter athlete… was awarded All-Conference, All-State awards…was team MVP and Captain… freshman year: 21.2 Innings, 4-1 record, 4.1 ERA… sophomore year: 23 Innings, 5-0 record, 1.63 ERA… Senior year: 28.1 Innings, 5-0 record, 1.48 ERA… was on 4.0 Honor Roll at Defiance High School.
Personal: Son of Gary and Kristen, with three siblings: Elyse, Katie, and Audrey.
Coach Beemer on Smiddy: Garyson is a talented late bloomer that we are thrilled to have. He's extremely hardworking and has truly turned himself into a premier talent. He stands 6'7 so will fit in well with current Bulldogs

Jack Griffiths 6'6. Garyson being left-handed brings us a different look to the class. Through his hard work and dedication, his pitches continue to get better and better. When you look at the competitiveness, the upside, the work ethic, and the ability that is already evident, it's hard not to be excited to see him toe the rubber at Bulldog Park. He's set to have a big year for Defiance High School in Ohio, a contender every year, and we can't wait to get him to Indianapolis after that.
