2022 – Senior Season: Made 16 appearances out of the bullpen… Went 0-2 on the year with an 8.79 ERA… Struck out 17 batters over 14.1 innings… Walked seven batters… Allowed 22 hits resulting in 14 earned runs… Made his season debut at Murray State (2/18)… Didn’t walk a batter and only gave up two earned runs over his last eight outings (4/5 - 5/21)… Struck out a season-high three batters at #1 Tennessee (3/22)… Threw a season-high 32 pitches vs. Xavier (5/7)… Struck out two batters in his final appearance vs. Seton Hall (5/21).

2021 – Junior Season: Made seven appearances… Pitched 7.2 innings… Held a 5.87 ERA… Struck out three and walked four… Allowed seven runs off 12 hits (5 ER)… Made his season debut at Ball State (4/3)… Threw a season-high 36 pitches over two innings of action vs. St. John’s (5/14)… Struck out a batter in back to back outings vs. Xavier and Villanova.

2020 – Sophomore Season: Made six appearances out of the bullpen… Ended the year 0-1 with a 1.59 ERA… Struck out 13 batters in 11.1 innings of action… Only walked one batter… Allowed two earned runs off 11 hits… Got one start at shortstop vs. Saint Joseph’s (3/11)… Made his season debut vs. North Carolina A&T, striking out three batters over two innings (2/14)… Struck out a season-high four batters at UCF over two full frames (3/6)… Longest outing was 3.2 innings on the mound at Evansville (3/1)… Struck out three batters over two innings vs. Western Illinois (2/23).

2019 – Freshman Season: Two-way player… Split time between third base and shortstop in the field… Appeared in 15 games, making 11 starts… Hit .200 at the plate…Recorded eight hits… Posted six RBI… Scored six runs… Hit two doubles in a three-game series vs. Rider at the start of the season (Feb. 16)… Picked up two RBI vs. Saint Peter’s (March 1)… Made 14 appearances out of the bullpen… Finished the season 0-2 on the mound with a 5.03 ERA… Struck out 19 batters in 19.2 innings of work… Limited opponents to just 17 hits and 11 earned runs… Made his pitching debut at Indiana (Feb. 27)… Struck out three batters vs. Pittsburgh (March 2)… Struck out a season-high four batters vs. IU Kokomo… Tossed three full innings at Seton Hall (April 27) and a season-high 3.1 innings vs. Villanova (May 3).

High School: Three-year starter at St. Francis DeSales under head coach Tom Neubert... Helped his team post a 19-9 overall record which included a 6-2 mark in conference... Central Catholic League Champions... Finished District Runner-Up... First Team All-Central Catholic League selection... First Team All-District... Second Team All-Ohio... Hit .415 with a .477 on-base percentage... Senior year stats included 34 runs and 16 stolen bases... 39 hits included 11 doubles, two triples and two home runs to help generate 37 RBI... Went 6-2 on the mound... 1.11 ERA., the fifth-best in school history... Recorded 66 strikeouts... Played club ball for Ohio Elite.

Personal: Son of Steve and Carla Gilbert... Has a brother named Michael... Plans to major in accounting.

Why Gilbert Chose Butler: I like the small school setting. The location is also very similar to my hometown. I know I will receive a great education at Butler and be able to compete at a high level in the BIG EAST Conference.
