Before Butler: Took a redshirt year at Nebraska.
High School: Three-year starter for head coach Tom Senne… Tabbed the No. 2 left-handed pitcher and No. 11 overall prospect out of Minnesota by Perfect Game… Named Big 9 Conference Player of the Year… Earned all-conference and all-state recognition while leading the Spartans to a Big 9 Conference title… Went 6-1 on the mound with 62 strikeouts in 41 innings as a senior… Hit .333 with a 1.006 OPS, five homers and 30 RBI as well in his senior campaign… Earned all-conference and all-area accolades in back-to-back seasons as a sophomore and junior… Went 10-2 overall at Rochester Mayo during his high school career with 133 strikeouts in 81 innings of action… Held a 2.07 career ERA…Threw six no-hit innings vs. Austin while striking out 10… Struck out 12 over 6.1 innings vs. Mankato East… Played club ball for the Minnesota Blizzard… Also played soccer.
Personal: Son of Andy Regal and Kelly Derby… Has two siblings; Logan and Autumn… Intends to major in kinesiology.
