2017 – Freshman Season: Played in nine games, making four starts… Recorded three hits in 19 at-bats to post a .158 batting average… Scored three runs… Delivered two doubles helping him generate three RBI… Made his season debut vs. Ohio (Feb. 18)… Jumped into the starting lineup at Furman (March 8)… Went 1-for-5 in his first start with a run scored… Came off the bench to go 1-for-2 vs. Fort Wayne with an RBI double (March 12)… Second RBI of the season came against Saint Louis with Niemiec starting as the designated hitter (March 17)… Provided BU with a pinch-hit double vs. DePauw (March 21)… Final RBI of the year came against Georgetown (May 13)… Season finale featured Niemiec reaching base on balls and scoring a run vs. Eastern Illinois (May 16).
