PRIOR TO BUTLER (AT OKLAHOMA STATE): Clocked two career-best times as a Cowgirl at the 2020 Big 12 Indoor Championships… Posted a top-ten finish in the 5,000-meter with a time of 17:04.11 and a 3,000-meter time of 9:57.68, good for 20th in the field… Also contributed to the Cowgirl’s 2018 Big 12 Cross Country Championship runner-up team finish… Ran a career best mile at the 2018 Indoor Conference meet, taking 15th with a time of 5:06.23…She went on to clock personal bests in the 1,500-meter, 2,000 steeplechase, and 3,000 steeplechase during the 2018 outdoor season… Academically, was a 2019 and 2020 Academic All-BIG 12 team selection.
HIGH SCHOOL: Hankins was a 2016 6A Oklahoma State Champion as a member of the Edmond Memorial High School track team… She was named All-OKC 2015 after qualifying for the 2015 Oklahoma State Cross Country Championships… Attended high school in Carterville, Ill. as a freshman and sophomore…. There, she was a two-time All-Southern Illinois selection… 2x Conference Champions… Academically, was a four-time Academic All-State selection and member of the President’s Honor Roll.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Annie and Tom Hankins… Has two siblings, Ellie and Luke.
WHY HANKINS CHOSE BUTLER: “I chose Butler because of the combination of my love for Indy and the awesome distance program they have. I think the coaches are great and the girls on the team seem like the most supportive group of women I have been around. I’m so excited to get to training with them and achieve some really big things as a group over the next 2 years!”
