2022-23 Track: Competed in nine meets during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
2022 Cross Country: 2nd place finish at the Rose Hulman Opener… 14th place at the Redbird Invite… Set personal record at the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region Championships (11/11), finishing 70th...placed 45th at the BIG EAST Championships.
2021-22 Track: Won the 3000m at the Blue & Gold Invitational (12/3) and the 1500m at the Sycamore Open (4/30)...5th place finish in the 3000m at the Jim Green Invitational (1/15)
PRIOR TO BUTLER: 2019 State 5A 3200-meter Champion… 4x South Carolina State Cross Country Qualifier… 2019 State, Region and County Championship Runner-Up… Posted top-10 finishes at the county and regional championships all four years… Owns two school records in the 3,200-meter (10:59.81) and the mile (5:09)… Voted team MVP in 2017 and team best freshman in 2016… Helped Nation Ford High School to a county and region championship in 2019 and a South Carolina State team runner-up finish in the same season… In the classroom, was 2x member of the A-Honor Roll and 2x member of the A-B Honor Roll.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Marc Werner and Rhonda Werner-Pendergast… Has one sister, Sydney.
WHY WERNER CHOSE BUTLER: “There are such great opportunities both on the academic side and the athletic aspect. There is the major I am interested in as well as the graduate school. Then, the team and coaches are welcoming and motivated to work at a high level. And the campus was absolutely perfect! I just knew that Butler was right for me after spending a few days on campus and interacting with the team, coaches, and some staff.”
