Meghan Deehan joined the Butler women’s lacrosse staff for the 2024-25 season, coming to Butler after a collegiate career that included stints at George Mason University and Furman University.
In her first season with the Bulldogs (2025), Deehan helped guide freshman goalie Alyssa Lentz to a conference-high 10.14 saves per game. The Bulldogs would finish with a total 142 saves which were the fourth most in program history.
During her collegiate career with GMU and Furman, Deehan played goalie accumulated 68 starts over her five-year career, leaving the field with over 500 career saves. As a team captain, she helped elevate a George Mason program that improved from five total wins in 2022 and 2023 to 10 wins in the 2024 season, tying for the second-most single-season wins in the Patriots’ program history.
Deehan received All-SoCon Second Team honors in 2021 after her Furman team earned a SoCon regular-season championship, posting an 11-4 overall record and going undefeated in conference competition. She also earned multiple Defensive Player of the Week awards over her career. In 2021, she was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
Deehan’s coaching experience comes primarily through Eagle Stix, a club program based in Atlanta, Georgia. She helped train players over a six-year period, working with teams and goalies in a variety of age groups.
Deehan graduated from George Mason University in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Integrative Studies and a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Development. She is currently completing a master’s degree in Sports Management and Recreation Studies from George Mason. As a team captain at Milton High School in Georgia, she helped lead her lacrosse team to three-straight GHSA state championships.
