Butler University Athletics

The 2023-2024 season will be Allie Carmichael’s first season coaching the Butler swim team; however, this is not her first season as a Butler Bulldog. Allie graduated from Butler in May of 2023 with a bachelor’s in biology and was on the swim team all four years. Allie was named co-captain for both her junior and senior years as a Bulldog and led the team to reach great heights in and out of the pool.

Carmichael was a four-time BIG EAST qualifier and finalist, held the school record in the 400 IM for her freshman and sophomore seasons, and was named to the Athletic Director’s honor roll each semester at Butler. She was also awarded the Coaches Award in both her junior and senior seasons at Butler.

Before coaching for the Butler Bulldogs, Allie has experience coaching at Carmel Swim Club. At CSC, Allie was the head coach for an 11-12 age group and loved her time applying what she had learned as a swimmer in developing her coaching philosophy. She is currently working within the sports medicine department of the Franciscan Hospital system as a rehabilitation technician and plans to attend medical school in the fall of 2024.
