Rachel Sutton joined the Butler women's tennis program as an assistant coach prior to the 2018-19 season. She was elevated to interim head coach for the final weeks of the 2019 season.
The 2019 Bulldogs posted an 11-14 record, which marked the program's most wins since the 2011 campaign.
The former Bulldog was a varsity letterwinner from 2014-18.
Sutton saw the majority of her matches at the No. 2 singles spot during her senior season. She helped contribute to team wins against BIG EAST opponents DePaul and Providence, and non-conference opponents DePauw, Cleveland State, and UT Tyler. Sutton also posted a win at the No. 1 singles spot in the 4-1 team win against Gustavus Adolphus. In doubles play, Sutton and partner Emily Neal posted five wins at No. 2 doubles.
Off the court, Sutton was named to the 2017-18 BIG EAST All-Academic Team and the Butler Athletic Director Honor Roll.
