Butler University Athletics

Alyssa Reyes joined the Butler staff in the role of Head Athletic Trainer in January of 2026. In addition to overseeing Butler's athletic training staff, Reyes works directly with the student-athletes on Butler's men's and women's tennis teams. 

Reyes was named the 2025 Collegiate Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Association. 

Reyes arrived at Butler after serving the University of New Orleans athletics department since 2021 through the Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute. She was the director of sports medicine since 2023 after first starting as an assistant athletic trainer. During her time in New Orleans, Reyes worked with the men's golf, men's and women's tennis, cross country and track and field, and indoor volleyball programs at different times. 

From 2017-20, Reyes served the student-athletes at Neumann University through Novacare Physical Therapy. She previously served in additional certified athletic training roles with other organizations. 

Reyes graduated from Penn State in 2011 with a degree in athletic training. She earned her masters degree in exercise science from Delaware in 2013.
