Ainise Havili

Ainise Havili joined the Butler volleyball staff in June of 2025 as an assistant coach on head coach Kyle Shondell's staff.

Havili arrives to Hinkle after playing for four seasons as a setter for Kansas from 2014-17 and a year of beach volleyball with Arizona in 2019. 


The Fort Worth, Tex. native earned four-time AVCA All-American and three-time Big 12 Setter of the Year. Her number was retired at Kansas in 2022, and she was inducted into the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023.

Havili owns KU’s all-time record of 5,255 career assists and helped lead her team to the NCAA Tournament in all four seasons that included a run to the Final Four in 2015.

The Fort Worth, Texas native also played professionally in Sweden, Turkey, and Germany before coming back to the United States to compete in the Pro Volleyball Federation.

She was part of the PVF’s inaugural draft in 2024 earning a spot and playing for the Vegas Thrill before signing with the Indy Ignite the following season.

Havili also brings coaching experience after stints as a volunteer coach with Purdue in 2023 and an assistant coach with Miami (FL) and Abilene Christian in 2024.

She graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Kansas and a master’ degree in marketing from Arizona in 2019.
