Pete Swanson serves the Butler men's golf program as an assistant coach.
A 1976 Butler graduate, Swanson has more than 20 years of golf coaching experience between North High School (Sheboygan, Wis.) and Butler University. His coaching approach has been influenced by several instructors including Dave Pelz Golf School, Jim McLean Golf Academy, Dave Stockton, Bill Harmon, Mike Shannon, and Dr. Bob Rotella.
He has been married to Linda for more than 40 years. Their children, Sarah ’07 and Kevin ’10 are both Butler graduates who competed as part of the Bulldog golf programs. Before arriving at Butler, Swanson played college golf at Edison College (Ft Myers, Fla.), and has won more than 10 club championships. He still plays competitive golf in Florida and Indiana, most recently winning the Indiana Super Senior Match Play in 2022.
