NASHVILLE - Seniors Jimmy Risi and Radley Haddad each homered and combined for seven RBIs and pitchers Eric Stout and Billy Laing shut down Lipscomb in the Butler baseball team's 11-2 win on Friday.

Risi finished the day 2-for-4 and drove in four runs, while Haddad went 2-for-5 with three RBIs. The punch provided by the two senior lefty bats was more than enough to support sophomore starter Eric Stout. The southpaw Stout last 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on six hits. He struck out four. It was his first win of the season.

Senior Billy Laing worked 4.0 scoreless innings for a save. He struck out seven and allowed just two baserunners and Butler turned the game into a blowout. 

Junior Marcos Calderon added a 3-for-4 effort for the Bulldogs, who pounded 14 hits. Every single Butler starter had at least one hit and eight different players scored a run.

The key inning of the game was the top of the 4th, when BU held a 4-2 lead. The Bulldogs went for four runs - keyed by Risi's three-run homer - to break the game open. Risi hit a homer to right-center after senior Jack Dillon and junior Marco Caponoi had singled. Senior Lucas Calderon also had an RBI fielder's choice in the inning. 

Marcos Calderon drove in two runs in the later innings. He was credited with an RBI when he reached on a throwing error and then added an RBI double in the top of the 8th and freshman Michael Kseniak drove in the day's final run with an RBI single in the 9th.

Griffin Moore had two RBIs for Lipscomb. He also had a double, the only extra-base hit of the game for the home team.

The Bulldogs and Bison will play Saturday afternoon, with Kyle Kramp starting on the mound for Butler. Senior righty Davey Hackett will start for Lipscomb.
