Bulldogs Take Home Opener over YSU 5-2

INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler men's tennis team recorded their first win of the year with a 5-2 victory over Youngstown State on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs took the doubles point and went on to win four of the six singles matches.

Sam O'Neill and Brandon Woods gave BU a 6-2 win in No. 1 Doubles with a victory over Sebastian Hagn and Dawoud Kabli. The Bulldogs secured the point with a 6-1 win in No. 2 Doubles thanks to the team of Austin and Alex Woldmoe.

Despite taking losses at No. 1 and No. 5 Singles, Butler used a team effort to pull out the 5-2 win. O'Neill won 6-2, 6-5 at No. 2 and Austin Woldmoe won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 Singles.

The Bulldogs extended the lead with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4 Singles with a win from Woods. Alex Woldmoe was the final Bulldog to chalk up a W in singles play with a 6-5, 6-2 win at the No. 6 spot.
