INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs took a 7-0 loss to Abilene Christian on Monday afternoon in the 2015-16 home opener. With the setback, Butler moves to 0-2 on the year.
Konstantina Adami and Jocelyn Koester paired up to form the No. 1 Doubles team for Butler. They were defeated by Erin Walker and Whitney Williams 6-1. The closest contest came at No. 2 Doubles with Kailey Eaton and Bailey Padgett falling to Kaysie Hermsdorf and Lucile Pothier. The No. 3 Double match featured Rachel Sutton and Jordan Minnick losing to Andrea Crook and Nada Marjanovic 6-2.
After an impressive win over #44 Purdue in the season opener, Padgett returned to the court as Butler's No. 1 singles player. She was ultimately defeated 6-4, 6-4 vs. Erin Walker.
Adami and Rachel Sutton each forced a third set in their respective matches. Adami ended up falling to Kaysie Hermsdorf 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 while Sutton took a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 setback.
Eaton, Koester and Minnick all fell in straight-sets. Eaton played at No. 3, Koester at No. 5 and Minnick at No. 6.
