INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs moved to 0-3 on the year after a 7-0 loss to Eastern Illinois at the Butler Bubble. The Panthers took the doubles point and went on to record straight-set wins in four of the six singles matchups.
Injuries shook up the BU lineup on Friday night. With Bailey Padgett out, the No. 1 singles spot went to Kylie Haviland who took a 6-4, 6-3 setback to Kelly Iden. No. 2 singles went to Konstantina Adami who was defeated 6-4, 6-2 and No. 3 singles went to Kailey Eaton who dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Grace Summers.
The bottom half of the lineup against EIU put Rachel Sutton at No. 4, Callie Schmit at No. 5 and Jordan Minnick at No.6. Sutton and Minnick pushed their matches into a tiebreaker, but both were ultimately defeated. Schmit went down 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5.
Adami and Haviland took the court at No. 1 doubles. They were defeated 6-1. Eaton and Sutton made up the No. 2 doubles team while Minnick and Schmit played at No. 3. BU lost 6-2 at No. 2 and 6-3 at No. 3 to give the Panthers the doubles point.
