INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs defeated Georgetown 3-0 on Saturday night to improve to 15-10 overall (25-13, 25-13, 25-19). With the victory, BU moves to 4-5 against BIG EAST competition.
 
Anna Logan led the attack with 14 kills off 30 attempts. She added 10 digs to her stat line to post a double-double. Whitney Beck was equally as impressive offensively, ending the match with 12 kills. Beck posted a .344 attack percentage and narrowly missed a double-double by recording eight digs.
 
As a team, Butler hit .278 compared to just .065 from the visiting Hoyas. Butler also dominated the serve by recording nine aces to just one from Georgetown.
 
Butler cruised to a 25-13 win in the opening set. A 10-0 scoring run broke a 7-7 tie and gave the Bulldogs full control. Georgetown tried to stop the scoring spree with a timeout at 12-7, but the 'Dawgs poured on five more points to build a cushion. Logan, Bri Lilly and Beck highlighted a balanced offensive attack in set one. Logan posted five kills while Lilly and Beck each added four.
 
BU duplicated the same result in set two by defeating Georgetown 25-13. This time a 5-0 scoring run would break a 4-4 tie and give Butler the advantage they needed to sprint to the finish line. Beck posted a team-high five kills in the set while Logan went 4-for-5 on her attempts.
 
The Hoyas best effort came in set three, but the Bulldogs proved to be too strong down the stretch. Logan added five more kills in the finale with Beck tallying three.
  
Butler will host two conference games at Hinkle Fieldhouse again next weekend. The St. John's Red Storm will challenge BU on Friday night. On Saturday, Butler will go head-to-head with the Seton Hall Pirates.
