INDIANAPOLIS -- The Butler women's tennis team lost to Bradley and Cleveland State over the weekend moving their overall record to 0-7. The Braves posted a 6-1 victory while the Vikings edged the Bulldogs 4-3.
The Bulldogs hosted each match over the weekend at the Butler Bubble. Bradley knocked off the home team 6-1 on Saturday, while Sunday's tilt vs. Cleveland State came down to the wire.
Junior Kailey Eaton was the lone winner for Butler on Saturday. She defeated Bradley's Alexa Brandt 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
Eaton was a two-time winner as she also notched a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win in Sunday's matchup against Cleveland State. The day got underway with the Vikings winning the doubles point. CSU won No. 1 and No. 2 doubles 6-4. The first court to clear was at No. 3 where the Vikings won 6-2.
Senior Konstantina Adami and Bailey Padgett each won their singles matches at the top of the lineup for Butler on Sunday. Adami won at No. 2 in straight-sets 6-3, 6-4. Padgett represented Butler at No. 1 singles and ended up winning in three sets 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.
The doubles point proved to be the difference in the match as Cleveland State also won three single matches. They earned the 4-3 win by coming out on top at No. 3, 5 and 6 singles.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday as they host Indianapolis.
